Where do I start?

I’ve been thinking about what my first blog post should contain as I’ve placed a lot of importance on it.

With the information contained within this website you have been given the tools you need to begin your own IBS recovery journey.  So what is there left to talk about?  Well, you may want to hear about my journey,  how it made me feel and what I found challenging.

When I get flashes of inspiration or have my memory jogged, I’ll sit down, start writing and tell you all about it.

One thing I can tell you right now, is that my joureny started a little over one year ago.  Up until 2018 I’d never heard of FODMAPs.  I had no faith in FODMAPs being the cause of my symptoms and I was in no way optimistic about yet another ‘elimination’ diet!  I was however intrigued enough to conduct my own reasearch which became a year long passion on a little known subject in the UK that was changing peoples lives.  I still didn’t think it would be the answer to my problems but I was willing to try anything and I’m so glad I did.

I will blog about my journey in more detail but for now I can admit it wasn’t easy to begin with.  The learning involved was time consuming and could be confussing.  Away from the house eating was difficult.  Eventually it becomes a way of life and slowly but surely it got easier and easier until it felt like second nature to me.

My aim is to inspire other IBS sufferers to take a leap of faith into the world of FODMAPs with a view to self recovery and regaining a full life.
